A Legacy of Leadership: The Inspiring Story of Charlene Dimas-Peinado
Charlene Dimas-Peinado has dedicated her career to enhancing the well-being of children and families. As president and CEO of the respected LA nonprofit Wellnest, she champions behavioral health and housing solutions—transforming lives across the Los Angeles community. Her deep appreciation for the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC) reflects her belief in education’s power to inspire future generations.
From an early age Charlene found inspiration in museums, where history, science, and imagination converge. She understands how these institutions spark curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning. Her passion for education and community well-being led her to make a planned gift to NHMLAC.
Charlene reflects, “Bringing my own children to the Museum was a cherished experience, and now seeing new generations discover the same sense of wonder, whether inside the Museum or through the mobile Museum reaching children across LA County, fills me with hope. My gift ensures that this legacy of discovery, learning, and inspiration continues for years to come.”
A member of NHMLAC’s Board of Trustees and Governors, Charlene helps to shape the Museums’ future. As chair of the Board’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Committee, she ensures the Museum remains welcoming to the entire community. Her future gift will secure NHMLAC’s role as a dynamic, safe space for visitors for generations to come.
